Have you ever worked on something long enough that each new revision somehow made it worse?
The first hour creates real progress. The second improves it. The third catches a few problems.
By hour six, you are changing words back to what they were during hour two.
This is the Law of Diminishing Returns:
After a certain point, more effort produces smaller gains.
The same thing can happen when we add more meetings, more reports, more people, more requirements, or more layers of approval.
At first, the additional effort helps. Eventually, it begins consuming more than it contributes.
More is not always better.
Sometimes “good enough and finished” beats “slightly improved and three days late.”
